Bio March grew up in the mountains in British Columbia on the Caravan Farm Theatre, where theatre, music, and horses informed her imagination. From the day she could walk, she was doing so all over theatre sets. From the day she could obey, she had a paintbrush in hand and helped finish backdrops and props. Becoming a bit of perfectionist, oriented toward detail, March continued to execute fonts, posters, and logos. But at 16 she wanted to be absolutely opposite of everything she knew. March swore off a life in the arts and had many adventures in many countries and started a university degree. This was all easy, and she realized the toughest thing she could do was to make art. So she gave in. March graduated with a BFA from Concordia University in 2007. While maintaining her drawing and painting practice, she also works in illustration and design. She is a cofounder of the multidisciplinary arts group Little Bang Creations and acts as designer and “co-concepter” of their productions. She has been part of the creative teams of The Leaky Heaven Circus, The Caravan Farm Theatre and Les Saints. Her artwork can be seen on the albums of Lhasa de Sela, Surprise Me Mr. Davis and The Barr Brothers, and has been published in Ryga: A Journal of Provocations, Vallum, and Matrix. March continues to live and work in Montreal. The hardest part for her, is remembering everything she’s learned and at the same time forgetting everything she knows. This is the balance she seeks in painting, illustrating and designing. Contact: marchhutchinson@gmail.com, Download pdf CV Links: |
